Baraboo Area Canoe & Kayaking
Opportunities
Mirror Lake State Park near Wisconsin Dells offers miles of open water surrounded by sandstone cliffs opening in a wildlife filled slough. It's about a 3.5 paddle around Devil's Lake State Park below the towering bluffs. The Wisconsin river & Lake Wisconsin are also fantastic opportunities for the more experienced paddlers used to higher wave conditions, currents, & power boat traffic. In addition the Baraboo river offers a unique view of the city of Baraboo from on the water. However, the Baraboo is often very shallow often you may have to walk your boat over shallow areas. Fiberglass canoes & kayaks are not recommended on the Baraboo River as they may sustain damage on the rocky shallow bottom. For More Information On Wisconsin kayaking visit: KayakWisconsin.net
