This Heat

I’m sorry I’ve not posted in a bit.  I’ve spent much of the last couple weeks exploring Wisconsin coast line by kayak near Two Rivers, WI and way up north in the Apostle Islands on Lake Superior.  It’s hard to imagine but just a couple days back it was only 60F on Lake Superior. It was 85 inland just a mile or two from the beach.  Amazing.  Of course with days in the upper 90s like we’re having now, 85 seems cool.  Oh, and by the way  my car and the bank clock on the east side of Baraboo agreed that it was 102 F.  A bit more than the 96 F reported else where.  Oh well, whatever the temp it’s a good day to get out to Devil’s Lake.

Now On Twitter

Twitter image for blog

I’ve been “Twittering” for some time in one of my atlernate realities.  I realized (a bit slowly…) that twitter would create a better way to communicate with you as well.  However, it seemed silly to have Twitter accounts for each of our travel & community sites.  So I decided to go for one over all account.. The new twitter will cover Baraboo news and notes, Devil’s Lake State Park notes, Wisconsin Dells travel info and whatever else crosses my desk or my crazy mind through the course of the day..  Follow along here.

End of the Road…

I was having post-apocalyptic visions the other day as I drove down Old Lake Road on the south-east side of Baraboo.  I’m certainly aware that this is not the most traveled road in the city. In fact at this point one could hardly call it a road at all.  Not in the modern sense anyway. It’s more of an archeological representation of a road from days gone by.  Continue reading »
